July 4th – Independence Day

I have difficulty expressing with words how proud I am to live in this country; I wanted to write a long and well thought out essay on just how proud I am to be an American, and yet the words always fall short of expressing my true meaning.

Suffice to say that I do love my country, and I hope and pray that all of you will take a moment today and step back from the cookouts, fireworks, and other celebrations to reflect on the values, traditions, institutions and people that have made our country into the greatest nation on Earth.

  1. Absolutely Caleb, Stop and remember the great people who were willing to set their whole lives on the line for an ideal they believed in. Freedom from government control without any say in that control. Now we the people, the beneficiaries of that great, have let the freedom and self responsibility or forefathers and current patriots have fought and are still fighting for go down the drain. I cry when I see our great country giving away all the things which made us great. Education,
self reliance, personal responsibility, standing up for what is right when it’s not popular, on and on.
God Bless America and lets do what we can to make her free again.

  2. Happy 4th! I love this country too, now more than ever, more than when I was a kid and taught to be a smartass cynical sneer.
