Airborne laser platform. Man, that’s super cool.
ATF Raids Sabre Defense
Story here at Nashville Post. Thanks to the Cheaper than Dirt blog for the heads up.
Marine Corps upgrading their ammo
The USMC is dumping the standard M855 NATO loading in 5.56 in favor of a 62 grain 5.56 SOST round. The SOST round is designed for superior terminal performance from barrels shorter than 14 inches, and was originally optimized for the FN SCAR.
Attention Hoosiers HB 1065 needs your action
Alright Indiana readers, I have an update on HB 1065, the guns in parking lots bill. Right now, the Chamber of Commerce is running false attack ads on the radio in Indy claiming the bill will allow guns in the workplace. It does nothing of the sort. All the bill does is prevent employers from firing employees who locked legally owned firearms in their vehicles to use for lawful activities before and after work. 300,000+ handgun permit holders and countless more gun owners do not deserve to lose their jobs simply because Big Business doesn’t approve of your 2nd Amendment rights.
HB 1065 is on the schedule for the Senate on Thursday – that means we need to contact our State Senators now and urge them to pass HB 1065 without and poison language inserted!
Wednesday Night at the Range
Got the winter blues tonight? Then check out Outdoor Channel this evening for some great shooting sports coverage! I heartily recommend ShootingUSA, Sighting in with ShootingUSA, Shooting Gallery, and SWAT Magazine TV. Shooting Gallery is on their 10th season, and is putting together a great string of episodes; meanwhile SWAT TV, hosted by Rob Pincus has started their first season off strong.
Check your local cable listings for times!
FTC nonsense: I have not recieved diddly from Outdoor Channel, I just like the shows.
Cold Weather Practice
Jim Shepherd has a piece on the topic at Downrange.TV, check it out.
Calling up and coming gun bloggers
I may or may not have mentioned, but I’m currently in the process of auditioning for a TV, which if selected would force me to stop blogging here for a month. So what I’d like to do is find 2-4 guest bloggers to fill in for me while I’m out, that way Gun Nuts doesn’t go dark for a month and you’ll be able to expose your blog/website to Gun Nuts’ large reader base.
If you’re interested in potentially guest blogging here, please send an email to the Gun Nuts inbox at [email protected] with your name and current blog!
Update your links
Handgun Hourly has moved, and can now be found at The Firing Pin Journal.
Gun Nuts Radio: No show tonight
As an FYI to our regular and dedicated listeners, Gun Nuts Radio will not air tonight. The guest host unfortunately had to cancel. In the meantime, I encourage you to check out past episodes of Gun Nuts Radio as the archive vault contains everything from political action items to gear reviews to interviews with top flight training professionals! Gun Nuts will resume our regular air schedule next week after I return from LA.
Breaking news, sort of
I just heard that Evan Bayh (senator from Indiana) is not going to seek re-election. Now, Sen. Bayh has been a friend to gun owners, so let’s make sure we replace with him with a solid Pro-Gun Senator!
