IDPA Classifier video: SSP Master Class run

I found the below video to be quite interesting actually – it’s a shooter in TN running through the IDPA Classifier match in Stock Service Pistol fast enough to earn a master class designation. But what’s really interesting about it is that he is down 40+ points for the match, meaning that he added more than 20 seconds to his time with penalties.

There’s training value for us in watching other people shoot, especially watching their splits and reload mechanics. Faster splits and better reloads can be a quick ‘n easy way to shave quite a few seconds off your runs in IDPA, as you can see the shooter in the video runs very smoothly the entire match.

Sabre Defence update

Uncle reports:

The company released a statement saying one or more employees may have obtained and resold some items without appropriate licenses. The company says it’s cooperating in the investigation.

From reading the info he’s got up at his link, it sounds to me like Sabre Defence is working with the feds to expose a corrupt employee.  For a company that is one of the largest contractors to the government at various levels, it makes sense that they’d want to preserve their business by cooperating, especially if someone on their staff is stealing machine-gun parts.

Attention Hoosiers HB 1065 needs your action

Alright Indiana readers, I have an update on HB 1065, the guns in parking lots bill. Right now, the Chamber of Commerce is running false attack ads on the radio in Indy claiming the bill will allow guns in the workplace. It does nothing of the sort. All the bill does is prevent employers from firing employees who locked legally owned firearms in their vehicles to use for lawful activities before and after work. 300,000+ handgun permit holders and countless more gun owners do not deserve to lose their jobs simply because Big Business doesn’t approve of your 2nd Amendment rights.

HB 1065 is on the schedule for the Senate on Thursday – that means we need to contact our State Senators now and urge them to pass HB 1065 without and poison language inserted!

Wednesday Night at the Range

Got the winter blues tonight? Then check out Outdoor Channel this evening for some great shooting sports coverage! I heartily recommend ShootingUSA, Sighting in with ShootingUSA, Shooting Gallery, and SWAT Magazine TV. Shooting Gallery is on their 10th season, and is putting together a great string of episodes; meanwhile SWAT TV, hosted by Rob Pincus has started their first season off strong.

Check your local cable listings for times!

FTC nonsense: I have not recieved diddly from Outdoor Channel, I just like the shows.

Calling up and coming gun bloggers

I may or may not have mentioned, but I’m currently in the process of auditioning for a TV, which if selected would force me to stop blogging here for a month. So what I’d like to do is find 2-4 guest bloggers to fill in for me while I’m out, that way Gun Nuts doesn’t go dark for a month and you’ll be able to expose your blog/website to Gun Nuts’ large reader base.

If you’re interested in potentially guest blogging here, please send an email to the Gun Nuts inbox at [email protected] with your name and current blog!
