I recently purchased a new revolver that I’m very excited to tell everyone about. It is the perfect defensive firearm for me: simple, light and easy to shoot. It holds a powerful round with a lot of stopping power so I will never have to worry about hitting my adversary more than once and, even better, it comes chambered in .410 shot so I don’t even have to concern myself with detailed accuracy. I can literally point the gun, shoot it and won’t have to worry about hitting what’s in front of me.
As a woman having this in a revolver is beneficial since complicated “semi-automatic” pistols tend to be a little confusing and my hands are too weak to properly rack a slide, although I haven’t figured out why I’m trying to use my hand strength to rack the slide when I can use my body weight and a little bit of leverage to easily manipulate any semi automatic handgun. I am also lucky that my boyfriend/husband/significant other couldn’t teach me to shoot properly and didn’t encourage me to take a training class so he thinks I need a round with ridiculous “stopping power” so I don’t have to actually practice with my carry gun! This is so much easier than buying a shootable gun and becoming proficient with it I can’t understand why anyone would bother!
I now can stop practicing with firearms because I have such a comprehensive carry gun. I am just going to load my new Taurus Judge Ultra Lite with Winchester PDX, stick it in my purse and go about my life because even if I am one of the .01% of people who have to pull out a defensive firearm I would never be one of the minority within that minority that would have to use it. Instead I will just go once every six months in my sundress and high heels (brass burns aside it’s very important I be able to shoot in my daily garb) and hit the floors and baffles at my local firing range!
Have a great April 1st, everyone.
That was awesome. Happy April Fools Day, Shelley!
You got me. I was reading the post and was thinking, “Man, Caleb’s going to kick Shelley off the blog when he reads this.”
Happy April 1st! Tell Caleb he still owes me a GP100 holster.
Too bad its not a pink snubbie Judge!
Trust me, I looked for one 😉

Uh… Welcome to the Scottsdale Gun Club?
(No, I don’t work there, just a happy customer.)
Little Lady,
You don’t need a heavy machine like that, all you need is a snubbie in .357…
😉
Silly girl…..everyone knows that the perfect gun for a woman is a .25ACP….those of the fairer sex can’t handle anything more powerful than that….
🙂
Haha. Now I REALLY want to see you shoot that!
I didn’t get past the photo.
You can rack the slide on a Glock 17 – no complexity of external hammer or safety, and holds 17 rounds vs. 6 in revolver. It’s lightweight and easy to manage even for smaller hands. It’s simplicity perfected.
If I hadn’t just been through a week that threatened to burn out my sense of humor, I’d be laughing like hell. As it is, you got a grin and a chuckle out of me, and I think my sense of humor is on its way to being rehabilitated – which is more than I thought I’d be able to manage today…
Thank you. Thank you lots
Why do I get the feeling that this was inspired by a true story?
Beautiful!
I was actually believing it till I got onto the second paragraph!
That was a good one!
Did Taurus introduce the Judge series on an April 1st a few years ago?
Would’ve been appropriate!
