I reported here on Gun Nuts that the price of the new S&W Governor would be $599; that was incorrect. That price was what a dealer said they’d be charging for the gun. The listed MSRP on S&W’s website is $679, which does lead to the question “how are they selling the gun for so cheap?”

I wonder how they are keeping it that cheap too. If I can get an actual S&W revolver for that cheap I’d consider it.
I want to clarify by actual I mean any other S&W revolver that isn’t a novelty.
They are competing with Taurus. Most people will pick up a Taurus over a $1200 S&W revolver that shoots .410 gauge. Taurus has already established there product. S&W charges a lot for their name.
Makes me wonder how much higher the other S&W revolvers are overpriced. Example: Compare to price of a stronger framed Ruger.
Give Ruger a Trigger job and it competes with the S&W.
