Would you cousin-humping rednecks please stop buying guns?

Obama says that he only supports “common-sense” gun laws, so if we could please stop buying all those damn gun, that would be great.

“I believe in common-sense gun safety laws, and I believe in the second amendment,” Obama said at a news conference. “Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear. I said that throughout the campaign. I haven’t indicated anything different during the transition. I think people can take me at my word.”

Meanwhile, us cousin-humping rednecks, who are generally smart enough to look at the guy’s actual record on the issue say “okay, whatever buddy” and have been buying guns in record numbers.  In fact, NICS checks in November (NICS checks are an excellent indicator of how many firearms are sold) were the highest they had ever been for 1 month in the history of NICS.

It’s not that we don’t believe Barack Obama when he says that he doesn’t want to ban our guns, it’s that when he says “we have nothing to fear” we tend to, well, not believe him.

Because of his actual record on the issues, which is that he never met a gun control law he didn’t immediately fall in love with.

  1. Damn. That number should actually be a whole lot higher. I know that the four guns my cousin-humpin’ ass bought never waited for an NICS check. CHL trumps NICS (at least it do in Texas).

    I wonder how many 4473’s were filed…
