While I’ve known Julianna Crowder for a while, my first real exposure to the A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League was at their National Conference this past March down in Waco, Texas. It was a wonderful experience; the classes and instructors they had were all top notch, and I couldn’t believe how many women were there enjoying themselves and learning a lot along the way.
I had been thinking about getting together a group of ladies in Sioux Falls anyway; I had been asked about it a lot – women’s classes, a women’s shooting group, something, and when I started collecting names and email addresses there was immediate interest.
I went through the facilitator application process, and am now signed up for an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor certification course at the end of the month. I’m inquiring at local ranges, and I hope to start hosting events and clinics in June, and I think it’s going to be a great thing for Minnehaha County and the city of Sioux Falls.
As of yesterday, you can join the Sioux Falls South Dakota chapter of A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League. I couldn’t be more excited at another opportunity to encourage and educate women interested in firearms, self-defense, and the shooting sports. I will release more information as it becomes available. If anyone in the Sioux Falls area is interested in getting more information, they can either join the league or email me at [email protected]. Those outside of Sioux Falls interested in the league can find a chapter nearest them (or start up their own)!
