Yeah, I don’t get it. That surplus Tokarev ammo won’t be cheap for long and 6 rounds, seriously? Seating surplus soviet ammo more deeply to get those extra rounds in seems like a good way to earn a trip to the ER. Plus you have to have a 9mm or 38 super 1911 lying about already, so I just don’t get the appeal.
I have a .22 conversion for my 1911 that works fine and if I acquired a 9mm (don’t have use for a .38 super), I doubt I’d turn around and buy a barrel conversion just to shoot Tokarev ammo. At least the 9mm and .38 Super have loadings that make it useful for SD.
IMO this is like those 5.45mm uppers for AR, in theory a nice idea, but really just unnecessary. But hey, knock yourself out if that’s your bag.
I’ll saw what I said over there, unless you already have a 1911 in 9mm it’s cheaper to buy a TT-33 or clone outright.
Even then most of the ammo is corrosive.
