Bought one, sold one at a loss, Bought an FAL.
So buyer’s guide (Skip the AK, and save your pennies and buy a GOOD rifle)
I had the opportunity to s hoot a friend’s AK in April and while it was fun, it wasn’t something that I would want to buy. The stock was too narrow, and the controls just felt odd to me.
Aaron, I was foolish enugh to think the controls would feel more natural if I had the chance to fiddle with them every day for several days.
Instead I just learned to hate that rifle more-and-more….and desire an FAL more-and-more….
I also forgot to mention that I shoot lefty so that probably added to the feeling of strangeness on the AK. But what really felt the weirdest to me was the shoulder stock’s narrowness…
This is easy:
Step 1: Don’t buy a Century
Step 2: Don’t pay more than it’s worth
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!
$400 is a cheap AK? I have a Romanian that was $120 when I bought it about 10 years ago. (It was a thumbhole stock from the Clinton Ban era)
Guess that was a good investment! Still unfired too.
