This is getting ridiculous. Is there a single place where these ACORN guys worked that didn’t have serious acts of voter fraud committed?
More than 2,000 voter registration forms filed in northern Indiana’s Lake County by a liberal activist group this week have turned out to be bogus, election officials said Thursday.
Over the past four years, a dozen states have investigated complaints of fraudulent registrations filed by ACORN. On Tuesday, Nevada authorities raided an ACORN office in Las Vegas, Nevada, where workers are accused of registering members of the Dallas Cowboys football team. And the group has become the target of Republican attacks on voter fraud, a perennial GOP issue.
A subsidiary of the group was paid $800,000 by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama‘s campaign to register voters for the 2008 primaries, and ACORN’s political wing endorsed Obama back in February.
I should write a song called “victory at all cost” or something, because I honestly don’t know how to respond to this sort of thing any more. Mrs. Ahab and I were talking about it yesterday on the drive home, and the only conclusion we can come to is that the people doing all this honestly believe that they know what’s best for us, and so that justifies (in their minds) breaking the law so that their guy can win. It’s actually terrifying when I think about it; because it matches a level of zeal and fervor that I had only previously encountered in religious fanatics.
If you think it’s bad now, just wait until Dear Leader Obama gets into office.
We may never see another conservative President.
I suspect that their thought process goes something like this:
1. Republicans are evil.
2. Evil people always cheat, even if we can’t catch them doing it.
3. We need to cheat to even things out.
Though there probably is a good dose of “the ends justify the means” in there as well, since that seems to be the thought process behind most of their policies as well. It doesn’t matter whether the policy is good, or even works, as long as the goal of the policy is a good thing.
They are religious fanatics. Their ideology is their religion. Unfortunately for us, the only tenant of their religion is the promulgation of their religion at all costs. They have no other moral bearings. Anything done which advances their ideology is defined as good (even if common morality defines it as downright evil) and everything that inhibits the advancement is defined as evil.
I think they’re zombies! Brainless, under the control of an evil overlord, and out to destroy us.
ACORN is a dangerous organization, but there has been a lot of attention on them in recent days. I just hope it’s not too late for McCain.
