You have got to be kidding me. This article seriously cannot be implying that because Palin’s from the Pacific Northwest that she’s a racist, just because some racist groups are from the Pacific Northwest.
It has been years since groups such as the Montana Militia, the Posse Comitatus and the Sagebrush Rebels, and individuals such as Terry Nichols and Ted Kaczynski have made us wonder why so many “angry white men” populated our rural regions. Many of us have forgotten the threat once posed by domestic terrorists and instead have turned our attention to foreign terrorists. But we should never forget that in the late 20th century, ultra-Christian, anti-statist and white-supremacist groups flourished in the states of the Pacific Northwest – called by many the “Great White Northwest” – the very region that Sarah Palin and her family call home.
REALLY? Oh man, I’m from the Pacific Northwest, and so is Joe Huffman. I guess we must be racists as well!
The worst part is that if you actually read the incredibly stupid article, that they define “diverse” by having a large number of African-Americans. I guess all those other minorities that live in the Pacific Northwest don’t count – sorry Asians, you’re 2nd class minorities in the eyes of Catherine McNichol-Stock. I mean, never mind that 8% of Washington’s population are Asians, or that a whopping 22% of the population of Alaska are either Native American or mixed race – you’re only diverse if you have a lot African Americans.
I have been continually surprised at the absolute psychosis displayed by the left-wing media in attacking Sarah Palin – but to criticize the Pacific Northwest as racist and by so doing color all the residents as racist in an attempt to smear Sarah Palin is well, insane. It’s also kind of racist actually, because as noted above, the author’s definition of diverse doesn’t count Native Americans, Asians, or Hispanics.

You are also racist if you point out that the African Americans in most major cities are the primary source for violent crime, poverty and drug neighborhoods.
You might be disgusted by that article, but someone on the Palin staff should be trying to get that article wider distribution and see if any of the lefty talking heads pick up on that talking point. That would be golden.
Good point, Mr. Gwinn. That would indeed be epic, since they’ve shown such a proclivity to glomming on to such things. The outright nuttiness of their vitriol is having the opposite effect of what they’re desirous of: while it is invigorating the left wing of their base, it appears to be turning off the alleged centrists, who appear to be turning to McCain. These are going to be interesting times. lol!
So the academic elites, not content with losing Virginia & Pennsylvania for Obama, are now trying to lose Washington & Oregon for him as well. If they keep this up, McCain will have close to a 50 state sweep in November.
I’ve actually had black people get in my face and tell me it’s impossible for blacks to be racist. Apparently someone, someplace is teaching the definition of racism as a white on black problem. When society creates and supports terminology such as ‘reverse discrimination’ it doesn’t help matters.
