So, her 17 old daughter is pregnant. Unlike some, I don’t see what the big fat hairy deal is, it is a sad fact that kids have sex and sometimes they get knocked up. I like that the campaign is owning it and saying “yeah, this happened, and she’s keeping it and marrying the father”.
Of course, none of this would have happened had it not been for the absolutely vile rumor that DailyKos started (which I refuse to link to) about how Gov. Palin’s 4 month old son was her grandson and she was covering up for some kind of unwanted pregnancy of her daughter’s. Way to keep it classy, DailyKos. Way to be classy.
Of course, Gov. Palin has handled the whole event with the exact opposite of the rabid left – class and dignity.
Mostly the “big fat hairy deal” is the sheer irony of this.
Irony: an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.
So you’re saying it’s ironic that it turns that Gov Palin is actually the mother of her fourth month old son like we (we being the smart people) thought she was? Because I fail to see how her daughter being pregnant is ironic. It’s odd and unfortunate, but hardly ironic.
I’m sure some on the left will be outraged that Obama won’t talk about this or use this against her. What they can’t fathom is that most American voters will be more outraged by Obama’s comments that if his own daughters got knocked up as teens, he doesn’t want them to be “punished” by having the baby. It didn’t get much traction when he said it, but if he were to step remotely close to this issue, it would come up again.
Fortunately, Obama has chosen to step away from this issue. But I’m sure that will enrage parts of his base.
You mean the crazy a-hole base?

Obama is handling it well, in my opinion.
Ironically, I could give a shit about irony. Other folks children are other folks bidness. I don’t have time to worry about ’em, got troubles of my own.
I’d rather try to find ways to support our Republic. Still the most noble experiment in liberty and freedom that I can think of.
