A Bay Area newspaper (seriously?) has an excellent article on two shooters who will be competing in the USPSA National Championships come September 6th in Tulsa Oklahoma.
For Chris Leach and Henrik Blixt, shooting a gun is a way of life. The two will be making their first-ever appearance at the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) National Handgun Championships, Sept. 6-13 at the U.S. Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Okla.
Seriously, the entire article from a Bay Area news outlet talks about both the shooters, who now live in the Bay Area, and talks about USPSA and Action Pistol shooting without going into hysterics. I actually had to re-read the article twice to make sure that they hadn’t hidden any PSH under a paragraph or something.
They didn’t. It’s an excellent profile of two people who love the shooting sports, and who have formed a friendship based around a mutual enjoyment of run-and-gun pistol action. The closing section of the article says it all:
But most of the shooters in the field are like Blixt and Leach, individuals who share a common purpose and spend countless hours honing their skills so they can someday reach the pinnacle of their sport, competing in one of the biggest tournaments in the world.
Best of luck to those guys at USPSA Nationals.
