The courts in Wyoming have decided to slap the federal government around for overstepping its legal boundaries.
The District Court ruled in favor of the sheriffs. In fact, they stated, Wyoming is a sovereign state and the duly elected sheriff of a county is the highest law enforcement official within a county and has law enforcement powers exceeding that of any other state or federal official.”
As I said in the comments at Uncle’s, this sounds like a pissing contest between the local sheriff and el federales, however it was my experience that said contests are usually started by the feds 9 times out 10. So I’d imagine that the sheriff is probably tired of getting jerked around by some cowboy from BATFE.
