Today on Shooting Gallery: Bianchi Cup!

Today’s episode of Shooting Gallery is near and dear to my heart, as it’s all about my favorite match: The NRA Action Pistol Championship, aka Bianchi Cup.  You can watch it today, January 6th on the Outdoor Channel at any of the following three times:  3:30PM, and 7:00PM, 11:30pm (all times Eastern/Pacific).  It should be a great show – and I’m not just saying that because I was one of Michael’s guests on the show, either.

Check it out today – and if you don’t have the Outdoor Channel, call you cable company and ask them why they don’t carry the leader in Outdoor programming!  If you do have the Outdoor Channel though, make sure you catch one of the episodes of Shooting Gallery, today at 3:30pm, or 7:00pm 11:30pm Eastern time!  You won’t be disappointed.

Like Twitter, only not

Here’s a bunch of stuff that doesn’t really deserve it’s own post, but is cool nonetheless.

Shootin Illustrated’s new website is pretty awesome.

Part 5 in a series on holster discussions by Richard Mann.  With bonus hotchick.

New concealed carry holster from my boys at Galco for N-frames.  On that note, I’ve discovered that an N-frame really isn’t that hard to conceal, you just have to dress around the gun.

Dan Wesson “duty” coating on their new Valor 1911.

And finally, if you have a carry/combat gun with one of those “XXXXXTREEEME SUPER DURABLE COMBAT TESTED FINISHES’ and you just let it sit in a safe, you’re doing it wrong.

Gun Nuts tonight: New Rugers and more!

Join us tonight on Gun Nuts Radio, live at 9pm Eastern time!  Tonight’s show is going to be a lot of fun, as we’ve got a lot of ground to cover.  Our first topic will be the new guns from Ruger, the Ruger SR9c, the GP100 in .327, and of course the 8 shot Blackhawk in .327.  After that, we’ll be talking about a couple of news stories, including the story from the NBA about pro athletes brandishing guns, as well as some interesting news items from here in Indiana.  Finally, we’re going to launch our newest segment, which should be popular: Blogger of the week.  Each week when possible we’ll be talking to a prominent blogger, or a blogger that we feel you should be reading.  Tonight’s featured blogger is our very own Breda, because hey, what better way to launch a new segment than for me to put Breda on the spot?

It’s all tonight at 9pm Eastern time at www.blogtalkradio.com/gunnuts – this is the place to be for shooting sports and firearms related news and politics!

Indy Star threatens state representative

I’ll have more details as I get them, but I just heard from a source that the local paper here in Indy actually threated State Representative Mike Murphy in an email.  Rep. Murphy is the sponsor of one of the bills that would limit access to the concealed carry database to LE only.

Details are thin right now, but from what I understand, the senior editor of the Star sent a series of emails to Rep. Murphy blasting him for the bill, and then telling Rep. Murphy that the Star would not run any positive stories about the bill.  Oddly enough, the editor also apparently accused NRA of leaving poop on his doorstep.

However, it’s the threat to try and control the message that is most concerning.  Newspapers cannot be allowed to squash narratives and suppress information that the people have a right to know simply because it doesn’t agree with some editor’s personal politics.  Right now, I’m in touch with the Representative playing email tag to get more details, and as soon as I get them I’ll update here and on my Twitter feed.

Bills introduced to limit access to Indiana permit database

INGO has the scoop on this one, but the gist is that three bills have been introduced to limit access to the handgun permit database to law enforcement only.  This is a step in the right direction, especially since the Herald Times is loosing advertisers over this as well.

Keep up the pressure – contact your state legislators to support these bills that keep your data safe from prying eyes!
