Remington getting into 1911 market

Along with Ruger, it would seem that Remington is eying the handgun market with a 1911.

A 1911 is in first-production testing, and may be ready for introduction at SHOT Show in January. That is a qualified date because the company seems more concerned in making a solid product before introducing it to the consumer public, eschewing other companies’ practice of launching products and making adjustments on the fly.

  1. I certainly wish Ruger the best of the luck, but lately they seem to be running a year or two (at least) behind the latest trends

  2. Hope they have a special run of ’em with a Remington-Rand rollmark. Not a fancy “billbord” style, just plain stamped text, like the origninals. Parkerized, of coruse.

And I hope they make them both as classic 1911s and as modern 1911s with as many goodies as is common in the marketplace.

They did a helluva job on the ones they made decades ago, they oughta hit a home run with the new ones.
