  1. Not bad. I’d suggest investing in Adobe Premiere Elements for a little bit more polished intros and titles than you can get out of Microsoft’s built in video editor.

A Gun-Nuts TV logo would work too 😉

  2. Yeah, I’m eventually going to spend some money on better video editing gear for my PC, but for short clips the stupid Windows editor works alright. I actually bought quicktime pro, but it’s basically useless unless you want to make an iPod video.

  3. Maybe reduce the audio level on the video to better hear the voice-over? While lead on steel is a happy sound, it’s a little distracting in this case.

  4. Great video. I thought the quality of the video and voiceover was very good. I look forward to the next one.

I will be posting the video on my blog later today.

  5. Caleb,

I know you know, but you are looking at your mags and the pistol during reloads.

Work on this or the ghost of Jeff Cooper may haunt you.

    Shootin’ Buddy

  6. One of these days I’ll be able to reload a single stack gun without doing that. My cheater guns with the big ol’ magwells I can do. God that magwell is tiny.

  7. When the malfunction occurs at 1:21, you seem to drop your head to check the gun. Your clearance procedure also doesn’t look like it follows the standard “tap, rack, bang” that’s taught in a lot of places.

  8. That’s because I was done with that string of fire. Jam or not, I would have stopped shooting, so I didn’t need to “tap-rack-bang”.

  9. When you take the magwell off a 1911, Clint Smith does not kill a kitten and thinks about smiling (but does not).

  10. “If you’re not shootin’, you should be loadin’. If you’re not loadin’, you should be movin.’ If you’re not movin’, someone’s going to cut your head off and put it on a stick.” – Clint Smith (who may have been smiling when he said this.)

  11. “So what does he do when I put a big gay magwell on a 1911?”

He kills two kittens and then punches a puppy.

Remember, like shoe models (which I know you’ve never seen because Mrs. Ahab is listening), tis better to take off than put on.

  12. Was it an artifact of the camera angle, or were you really passing your hand in front of the muzzle every time you grabbed the slide after you completed a run? A real minor nit in an otherwise well-done segment, but I thought I’d ask. Thx!

  13. It’s mostly the camera angle. While my hand is forward of the muzzle a little bit, it’s also out and to the side so that the muzzle never actually sweeps my fingers.
