Are we talking about Unix or about revolvers here?
I heartily agree.
I believe you saw my .41 Magnum Jedi light saber yesterday (That’s what Marko called it before he foolishly sold it to me. 😀 )
[11:43] I went to Tam’s house yesterday
[11:43] and she showed me her collection of S&W revolvers
[11:44] Not as clumsy or random as a automatic.
[11:44] An elegant weapon for a more civilized time.
[11:45] YES
[11:45] I want a roundgun so bad it hurts now
(Our timestamps seem to be slightly off.)
What’s funnier… this came immediately after my bitching about my brand-new-Meg-gar’s not working right for the BHP.
“The World Is Not Revolver Friendly,” I tell our local revolver shooter when he vets IDPA stages for “revolver friendliness”. But a really good Smith (and the likelihood of being in a Miami-like-shoot) make me reconsider this from time to time.
I really need to get Dad a cheap something, and get my slicked-up-65 back. (He was hauling around a pre-war S&W .38 S&W.. and he keeps forgetting it’s not a .38 Special. So far I’ve always intercepted the ammo in the box, but I figured it would be safer to say “HERE. Put .38 IN THIS”, finally)
[11:43] [Ahab] I went to Tam’s house yesterday
[11:43] [Ahab] and she showed me her collection of S&W revolvers
[11:44] [Unix-Jedi] Not as clumsy or random as a automatic.
[11:44] [Unix-Jedi] An elegant weapon for a more civilized time.
[11:45] [Ahab] YES
[11:45] [Ahab] I want a roundgun so bad it hurts now
(Whoops. I didn’t think about it interpreting that as HTML. Need Preview!)
Revolvers–because if it was Unix, he would have said: “The best tool for the job. Period.”
Until you break one. Or 5.
(I must be cursed!!)
Hokey religion and ancient weapons are no match for a good Glock at your side.
Sebastian: Did you fire first, or did Greedo?
For true elegance in a weapon, go with a single-action revolver. A Ruger Vaquero in .45LC is my own preference.
Or a USFA single action…
